Power off: PFAFF logo faces case; thread through slot A/under tension plate B. Hold case with bobbin facing you: pulling thread must turn bobbin clockwise. Lift latch E, then insert case fully on hook pin C, opening D up; sharp thread pull checks it cannot fall out.
Power off, needle highest: press foot front up/back down simultaneously. Position under holder, lower lifter to engage pins; raise lifter to check engagement.

Needle thread tension: Normal sewing: 4 to 5; free-motion sewing, darning and buttonhole: between 2 and 3.
Switch off main switch. Lower presser foot, move needle to highest point, loosen needle screw and pull needle down. Insert with flat side facing rear, lower foot, push needle fully up; hold needle and tighten screw firmly. Normal needle-thread tension setting for sewing is 4 to 5; for free-motion sewing, darning and buttonhole set tension between 2 and 3.
