Before inserting or removing the bobbin, raise the needle fully and turn the machine off. Insert the bobbin with thread running counterclockwise. Pull thread through slit C, then clockwise until it slips into notch D. Replace the bobbin cover.

No lubrication (oiling) is needed. For bobbin-area cleaning: raise needle, lower feed dogs and turn machine off; remove foot, cover and bobbin; use screwdriver to remove both stitch-plate screws and lift plate. Brush feed dogs and bobbin area. Clean under bobbin case after several projects or noticed lint, lifting case up and right; brush or dry cloth. Reinsert tip into stopper D. Do not blow air into bobbin case area: dust and lint will be blown into the machine. Replace the stitch plate with feed dogs lowered, insert and tighten both stitch-plate screws, replace the bobbin cover, then raise the feed dogs.
